Communications Gear - Bike to Bike
Bike to Bike Communications.
In the FWIW category, yesterday I saw and helped someone install the AutoCom "Kit 3" which is the Auto-7 version of the unit versus the Pro version. At Lone Star BMW in Austin it was 279 for the basic kit but by the time he got a cable for a radio, PTT button, 2nd headset for the wife, it came out around $500. Pretty easy to install but Autocom has all of these proprietary cables that are about $60 each. BUT, the unit is very small. Did basic testing but have not gotten on the road with it yet.
As with the AirRider -- the Autocom will handle either a CB or an FRS radio. With the Autocom you have to have a particular cable whereas with the AirRider you can use any radio with the so-called "Motorola plug" connector.
