My first motorcycle cross-country trip

This is not ALL about that one trip, but a piece of it that was prompted by a message on the IBMWR email list today. The discussion was about rain gear and it had turned to the relative merits of double-flapped zippers.

White Christmas? Bah Humbug!

Once upon a time a family decided to take a journey to share Christmas with relatives not seen for some time. It seemed so simple. Drive Northward toward Dallas. Rendezvous with son Matt where I30 and 635 meet. Go to Memphis and visit Jennifer's sister and her family. Into Arkansas and the traffic is really not too bad. I-30 running smoothly. There's Arkadelphia where youngest daughter was born. It's about 3:30 and we've made such good time that we anticipate making Memphis just shortly after dark.

Paternal Grandparents

Pardon the personal privilege which I shall now take, but after all, it IS my website ;-)

The following is from an email I just sent to a relative and I wanted to preserve it. It may even be of some interest to some folks around here (Marble Falls and Burnet County) who knew my grandparents. "Mimi" is Jeannette Thomas Jones and "DanDan" is Guilford L. Jones -- my paternal grandparents.
